Based at Zurich Airport, Belair Airlines operates scheduled passenger service on behalf of airberlin and ad hoc charters for third parties. It was established and began operations in 2001. airberlin Group stated it plans to shut down Belair Airlines as part of its group restructuring programme. airberlin stated the final decommissioning of Belair Airlines operations will be at the end of the 2017 summer schedule. Until then, Belair will operate services from Zurich using four A321 aircraft. At the end of Oct-2017, these aircraft will be transferred to NIKI. Small Planet Airlines Group is reportedly interested in acquiring the Swiss airline.
