Aussie Batik was a proposed Indonesian start-up to be launched as a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Lion Group. The start-up planned to adopt a full-service carrier model and intended to launch services to Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. The Lion Group would look to find a local partner for the establishment of the new carrier in Australia if it cannot secure permission to operate from Indonesia. Lion Air Group secured SkyAirWorld as a financial partner, but the proposed shareholder collapsed in 2009. The future of the new airline is uncertain.
