About
Air Kiribati is the national airline of the Republic of Kiribati. The airline was established 1-Apr-1995 following the end of former national flag carrier Air Tungaru, which had been formed in 1977. Air Kiribati operates scheduled passenger services throughout the Gilbert Islands group. The airline also operates charters, medical evacuation and search and rescue services. 100 percent government-owned, Air Kiribati reached an agreement in 2009 with Nauru carrier, Our Airline, that licences the carrier to provide international services between Kiribati and Fiji. Air Kiribati operates DHC Twin Otter equipment.
