Aviation in the Republic of Kiribati is comprised two domestic airlines: Air Kiribati and Coral Sun Airways. Air Kiribati is the wholly government owned national carrier of Kiribati and operates a domestic network within the Gilbert Islands (the main part of Kiribati, comprising 16 atolls and coral islands) from its main base at Bonriki International Airport located in the country’s capital of South Tarawa.
