About

Established in 1941 as Sociedade Açoreana de Estudos Aéreos Lda, Grupo SATA consists of two airlines: Azores Airlines and SATA Air Açores. Sociedade de Estudos Aéreos changed its commercial name to Sociedade Açoreana de Transportes Aéreos Lda (SATA) in 1947. Grupo SATA also offers ground handling services through SATA Handling Services.
