Flying since 1947, SATA Air Açores is a regional airline based in Ponta Delgada in the Azores, a Portuguese archipelago in the North Atlantic Ocean. The carrier operates passenger, cargo and mail services on an extensive regional network to destinations across the archipelago. Established as Sociedade Açoreana de Transportes Aéreos Lda (SATA), the carrier changed its name to SATA Air Açores in 1987.
