Turf war: Hong Kong Airlines and Cathay’s Dragonair battle it out
Hong Kong's second tier airlines, HNA Group's Hong Kong Airlines and Cathay Pacific group's Dragonair, are waging an increasingly competitive tussle over key regional destinations. Hong Kong Airlines last month suspended five times weekly Hong Kong-Ho Chi Minh City service, citing weak demand. Hong Kong Airlines competed directly with Vietnam Airlines (daily frequency) and Cathay Pacific (double daily) on the route.
