Sukhoi submits bid for Delta narrowbody fleet renewal

Sukhoi confirmed it has entered a bid with Delta Air Lines, offering the Superjet 100 as a candidate for the carrier's new narrowbody contract for up to 200 aircraft. Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier and Embraer have reportedly submitted bids.

Aircelle announced it is readying itself for a production ramp-up of the Superjet 100's engine nacelles. The company has received its Russian Intergovernmental Aviation Committee type certificate, with deliveries to begin in 1Q2011 for Armavia and Aeroflot. European airworthiness certification should be obtained by the end of 2011.
