Republic still holding centre stage: Blockbuster Bombardier CSeries order

Premium Analysis

After releasing its fourth quarter and full year results late Wednesday night, Republic Airways Holdings executives held court on Thursday morning as anxious analysts tried to gain more clarity on how the company is evolving now that it has branded operations. The company attracted still more attention yesterday, becoming the North American launch customer for the Bombardier CSeries, announcing an order for 40 firm and 40 options for the CSeries CS300, 138-seat aircraft in a USD3.06 billion deal from which deliveries begin in 2Q2015. Should the options be exercised, the order would be worth USD6.34 billion.
