Garuda Indonesia signs codeshare with Hainan Airlines

Garuda Indonesia and Hainan Airlines entered (19-Jun-07) a

codeshare arrangement in a bid to strengthen both airlines' marketing positions

in China and Indonesia.

The agreement covers Garuda's three times weekly Jakarta-Beijing service with B737-800 equipment. Hainan Airlines reserves the right to sell up to 20 seats on each Garuda services.

Furthermore, Hainan Airlines will serve Garuda Indonesia passengers with connecting services from Beijing to domestic destinations in China, among them Harbin, Hangzhou, and Nanning. As the fourth biggest airline in China, Hainan Airlines presently operates to 53 throughout China.

Operating A330 and B-737-800 equipment, Garuda Indonesia operates 16 times a week to four cities in China, namely to Beijing (three times), Shanghai (four times), Guangzhou (four times), and to Hong Kong (five times).

Garuda transported over 275,000 passengers between the two countries in 2006.
