DHL sees opportunity from European airport congestion, commits to Shanghai hub
Leading express and logistics company, DHL, has stated rising
congestion, particularly at European airports, could create opportunities for
DHL to help airports become more efficient. In a research paper, "Airport
Logistics - Delivering Benefits to the Airport Community in the 21st Century”,
DHL warned of potential “severe impacts” on supply chains and airport
logistics, as airports come under increasing pressure to streamline operations
to meet a predicted doubling of passenger numbers worldwide by 2020.
