Jet Airways Gulf breakthrough

Premium Analysis

Jet Airways has been granted rights to operate over 11,000

seats per week to Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain from Jan-08 – breaking

the monopoly of state-owned Indian carriers on the routes. Jet also applied

for rights to Abu Dhabi and Dubai, but these are still under consideration.

There is limited spare capacity available to Dubai, but plenty on the Abu Dhabi

sector.
