Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport announces Apr-2012 pax, load factor for Apr-2012 highest since 2007

Australia's Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport passenger numbers stable - traffic highlights for Apr-2012:

• Passenger numbers: 3.0 million, -0.1% year-on-year;
  • Domestic: 2.0 million, -2.2%;
  • International: 998,000, +4.4%.

According to the airport, Malaysian travellers through the airport had the largest growth of 31% following the launch of AirAsia X's daily service between Kuala Lumpur and Sydney from Apr-2012. Traffic by international markets are as follows:

• Malaysia: +31% year-on-year;
• Japan: +28%;
• China: +22%;
• Korea: +16%;
• India: +12%;
• New Zealand: +6%;
• Germany: +6%;
• UK: -10%;
• Indonesia: -6%;
• France: -6%;
