Australia's Bureau of Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Economics (BITRE) reports (03-Sep-2014) the following international traffic highlights to/from Australia in Jun-2014:

• Passenger numbers: 2.6 million, +4.4% year-on-year;
• Available seats: 3.5 million, +5.6%;
• Flights: 13,923, +5.2%;
• Cargo volume: 70,057 tonnes, +0.7%;
• Aircraft movements: 14,444, +3.5%;

BITRE also reported low cost carriers (LCCs) AirAsia X, Indonesia AirAsia, Jetstar, Jetstar Asia, Tigerair and Scoot accounted for 16.6% of total international passenger traffic to/from Australia in Jun-2014. The LCC share in Jun-2013 was 13.5%.
