Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport (formerly Williams Air Force Base) is an airport located near the city of Mesa, Arizona, some 32km from Phoenix. Phoenix-Mesa serves the Maricopa County region and is operated and maintained by the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport Authority, which comprises members of the cities of Mesa, Phoenix and the surrounding towns. Phoenix-Mesa is a focus city for Allegiant Air, which operates a network of services to the north-west central states in the US. The airport caters mainly to the general aviation and training sectors, which account for an average of 90% of all movements.
