About

Caterham Jet, a proposed premium carrier of AirAsia’s Tony Fernandes, signed a preliminary agreement to purchase a majority stake in Berjaya Air. Under the agreement, Tune Air, major shareholder in AirAsia and Caterham Jet, will acquire 51% of Berjaya Air. Two CRJ700s were procured for the proposed premium offering. Mr Fernandes previously announced plans to launch Caterham Jet in 2011 but failed to obtain a Malaysian air operator certificate (AOC).
