Zurich Airport revenue down 4.1%, expects improvements in 2010

Switzerland’s Zurich Airport revenue down 4.1% - financial highlights for the 12 months ended 31-Dec-2009:

  • Revenue: EUR569.6 million, -4.1% year-on-year;
    • Aeronautical: EUR350.8 million, -3.9%;
      • Passenger fees: EUR120.2 million, -2.1%;
      • Security fees: EUR97.4 million, -1.3%;
    • Non-aeronautical: EUR218.8 million, -4.3%;
      • Commercial: EUR118.1 million, -6.1%;
        • Retail and duty free: EUR49.7 million, -10.0%;
        • Car parks: EUR43.0 million, -3.8%;
      • Rental and leasing: EUR59.4 million, +4.2%;
  • Operating cost: EUR290.3 million, -3.9%;
  • EBITDA: EUR279.3 million, -4.3%;
  • EBIT: EUR148.0 million, -8.9%;
  • Passenger numbers: 21.9 million, -0.8%;
  • Cargo volume: 344,415 tonnes, -11.2%;
  • Aircraft movements: 262,121, -4.7%. [more]

Zurich Airport: “Flughafen Zürich AG is cautiously optimistic that an economic recovery will have a positive impact on passenger demand. Overall, the company anticipates a slight increase in passenger volume by 3 to 5%. It also expects a slight improvements in the consumer sentiment…excluding any unexpected influences, both the EBITDA and the EBITDA margin are likely to be slightly higher than in 2009.
