Wizz Air CO2 emissions up in 2024 due to 'suboptimal fleet mix'
Wizz Air reported (30-Jan-2025) CO2 emissions increased 1.9% year-on-year to 52.4 grams per passengers for the rolling twelve months to 31-Dec-2024. The increase reflects the suboptimal fleet mix due to the grounding of some neo aircraft and the wet leasing in of older, more polluting capacity. These wet leases were returned in Oct-2024, with Nov-2024 seeing a 2.1% improvement in carbon per pax emissions and Dec-2024 a 4.1% fall. [more - original PR]
