Virgin Australia confined to a narrow range of options on the Tasman: Blue Swan Daily

The Blue Swan Daily, in a report entitled: 'Virgin Australia trans-Tasman loads hit seven-year low following termination of its Air New Zealand alliance', stated (18-Feb-2019) trans Tasman market imbalance will have to be addressed as a priority for Virgin Australia. A return to profitability may allow some scope for a competitive response, however without the ability to add large amounts of capacity Virgin remains confined to a narrow range of options without its JV with Air New Zealand, such as the inclusion of Tigerair Australia.
