Virgin Australia announces expanded international lounge network

Virgin Australia announced (17-Oct-2018) plans to launch a new international lounge network, introducing four new international lounges across New Zealand and three in Australia from 28-Oct-2018. Lounges will be accessible for Velocity Frequent Flyer Platinum and Gold members, Virgin Australia Lounge Members and Virgin Australia Business Class passengers. Highlights include:

  • Virgin Australia will collaborate with No1 Lounges in the refurbishment of Melbourne and Sydney 'The House' lounges over the next year, including addition of new reading rooms. Reconfiguration and expansion of 'The House' in Sydney is also planned to create a new entrance, private room and lounge area, increasing capacity by more than 50%;
  • Opening of the new 'My Lounge' in Brisbane in the next month, with games room, F&B services and seating for more than 100 passengers. Business Class, Velocity Platinum and Gold members will continue to access Singapore Airlines' SilverKris Lounge for the Los Angeles service until My Lounge opening;
  • Virgin Australia passengers from Queenstown and Christchurch will have access to the Manaia Lounge, with the Strata Lounge in Auckland accessible for passengers travelling to Australia and the Pacific Islands;
