Virgin Atlantic launches London Heathrow-Accra service

Virgin Atlantic launched three times weekly London Heathrow-Accra, Ghana service (Travelwires.com, 24-May-2010) - see Route Changes Table for more information.

Meanwhile, the carrier's President, Sir Richard Branson, announced the carrier is considering the option to merge with another carrier but only if Virgin is unable to remain independent (The Times, 25-May-2010). Singapore Airlines owns a 49% stake in the carrier and is reportedly planning to sell its stake.
