Uzbekistan provides details on plans for open skies regime at regional airports
Russia's Federal Air Transport Agency confirmed (25-Jun-2020) Uzbekistan plans to introduce an open skies regime at regional airports from 01-Aug-2020. Details as follows:
- Bukhara Airport, Karshi Airport, Navoi Airport, Nukus Airport, Termez Airport and Urgench Airport: Introduction of open skies without restrictions and with inclusion of fifth freedom right, subject to the technical capabilities of the airports;
- Andizhan Airport, Fergana Airport, Namangan Airport and Samarkand Airport: Foreign carriers from ICAO member countries permitted to operate passenger services without restrictions on frequency, subject to the technical capabilities for the airports, and with fifth freedom rights, on routes where designated Uzbek carriers are not operating;
- Samarkand Airport: An open skies regime will be introduced upon the completion of reconstruction work. [more - original PR - Russian]
