UTC reports 2012 results 'essentially flat'

United Technologies Corp (UTC) reported the following financial highlights for 4Q2012 and full-year 2012:

4Q2012:

  • Revenue: USD16.4 billion, +14.4% year-on-year;
  • Costs: USD14.8 billion, +17.8%;
  • Operating profit: USD1.8 billion, -5.1%;
    • Pratt & Whitney: USD364 million, -29.9%;
    • UTC Aerospace Systems: USD264 million, +33.3%;
  • Net profit: USD2.1 billion (including income from discontinued operations), +55.2%.
  • Earnings per share: USD1.04, -26.8%.

Full-year 2012:

  • Revenue: USD57.7 billion, +3.5%;
    • Pratt & Whitney: USD14 billion, +9.9%;
    • UTC Aerospace Systems: USD8.3 billion, +75.1%;
  • Costs: USD51 billion, +5.1%;
  • Operating profit: USD7.7 billion, -2.1%;
    • Pratt & Whitney: USD1.6 billion, -14.9%;
    • UTC Aerospace Systems: USD944 million, +23.4%;
  • Net profit: USD5.2 billion (including income from discontinued operations), +3%.
  • Earnings per share: USD5.35, +0.4%.
  • 2013 outlook:
    • Revenue: USD64-65 billion;
    • Earnings per share: USD5.85-6.15.
