US unemployment claims decrease

US Department of Labor stated (09-Dec-2010) the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 421,000 in the week ended 04-Dec-2010, a reduction of 17,000 from the previous week. The four-week moving average was 427,500, a reduction of 4000 from the previous week's revised average of 431,500. The advance seasonally adjusted insured unemployment rate was 3.2% for the week ended 27-Nov-2010, a reduction of 0.2 ppts from the prior week's unrevised rate of 3.4%. The advance number for seasonally adjusted insured unemployment during the week ended 27-Nov-2010 was 4.1 million, a reduction of 191,000 from the preceding week's revised level of 4.3 million.
