OFAC previously sanctioned entities and individuals in China, India, Russia and Iran for supporting Mahan Air, including general sales agents1. It also sanctioned individuals, entities and aircraft in Iran, Türkiye and the UAE, alleging Mahan Air's involvement in procuring and transporting UAV systems and weapons, and noted the carrier had been under OFAC sanctions since 20112. The European Council adopted restrictive measures against Iran Air, Mahan Air and Saha Airlines over Iran's missile and drone transfers to Russia3.
