OFAC previously alleged Mahan Air was involved in procuring or transporting weapons components and in moving UAV systems and weapons, and it designated additional individuals, entities and two Mahan Air Boeing 777-200s (EP-MTE, EP-MTB), noting the airline had been under OFAC sanctions since 20111. OFAC also designated multiple entities for supporting Mahan Air, including alleged general sales agents such as Shanghai Saint Logistics Ltd2 3. The European Council adopted restrictive measures against Mahan Air and Iran Air linked to Iran’s missile and drone transfers to Russia4.
