US reports 2.3% increase in system-wide pax traffic in Jun-2010
US Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) reports (16-Sep-2010) that passenger traffic increased 2.3% in Jun-2010, to 65 million passengers. The BTS added that this figure is 4.4% below 2008 levels. Highlights of the report include:
- Passenger traffic: 65.0 million, +2.3%;
- Domestic: 55.9 million, +1.4%;
- International: 7.7 million, +8.4%;
- Load factor: 86.2%, +2.0 ppts;
- Domestic: 85.4%, +0.9 ppt;
- International: 81.9%, +4.0 ppts.
- Top 10 system-wide US airlines in Jun-2010:
- Delta: 10.4 million enplanements; +70.4%;
- Southwest: 9.6 million, +6.2%;
- American: 7.6 million, +0.3%;
- United: 4.9 million, -4.7%;
- US Airways: 4.6 million, +1.8 ppts;
- Continental: 3.9 million, -1.1%;
- AirTran: 2.3 million, +4.6%;
- SkyWest: 2.2 million, +13.3%;
