US exports highest since Aug-2008; record exports to China

US Department of Commerce stated (13-Jan-2011) US exports of goods and services in Nov-2010 increased 0.8% from Oct-2010 to USD159.6 billion, the highest level for monthly exports since Aug-2008 (USD162.9 billion) and with record exports to China (USD9.5 billion). US imports of goods and services increased 0.6% over this period to USD198.0 billion, decreasing the trade deficit 0.3% since Oct-2010 to USD38.3 billion in Nov-2010. The improvement in the goods and services trade balance was due to a record monthly surplus in trade in services (USD12.9 billion).
