Background ✨

CommuteAir previously applied to the US Department of Transportation (DoT) to operate passenger and freighter services with large aircraft, aiming to broaden its charter offering including potential services to Canada and Mexico, and noting it already held DoT authority for interstate large-aircraft charter operations.1 CommuteAir’s 76-seat Embraer E170 also received US FAA certification after a 10-month process, with SVP flight operations Captain David Fitzgerald citing demand for a mid-sized charter jet.2
