US Dept of State says it does its best to ensure US airlines have fair/equal ability to compete

US Department of State deputy assistant secretary for transportation affairs Tom Engle, speaking at the CAPA Americas Aviation Summit 2016, stated (11-Apr-2016) the agency does its best in ensuring US airlines have fair and equal ability to compete in existing aviation agreements such as Open Skies, saying: "We take any allegations that US carriers are being denied a fair and equal [playing field] very seriously, to defend their interests."
