US Department of State says US needs to grow globally in aviation

US Department of State deputy assistant secretary for transportation affairs Tom Engle, speaking at the CAPA Americas Aviation Summit 2016, stated (11-Apr-2016) the US has enjoyed industry-wide profits, more visitors than ever to the US, as well as 10,000 new jobs. He said air travel is burgeoning while 2015 was the safest year for travel, which is a "little bit of good news out there for the industry." Mr Engle however felt the US needs to grow globally, with more investment in the airline product required. He also stated (11-Apr-2016) that looking ahead, he hopes for continued high profits for the US airline industry, as well as resolution of the controversies in the sector to the "satisfaction of all."
