US BTS reports 4.9% rise in system-wide pax traffic in Sep-2010
US Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) reports (09-Dec-2010) the following total system (domestic and international) traffic results for US airlines in Sep-2010:
- Passenger numbers: 57.3 million, +4.9% year-on-year;
- Passenger traffic (RPMs): +6.6%;
- Capacity (ASMs): +4.9%;
- Load factor: 81%, +1.3 ppts;
According to BTS, Delta remained the largest US airline, by total scheduled system enplanements in Sep-2010. The top 10 airlines are as follows:
- Delta: 9.0 million, +68.6%;
- Southwest: 8.3 million, +4.5%;
- American: 6.7 million, +2.8%;
- United: 4.4 million, -0.5%;
- US Airways: 4.2 million, +9.2%;
- Continental: 3.2 million, +1.2%;
- Skywest: 2.0 million, +13%;
- JetBlue: 1.9 million, +15.3%;
- AirTran: 1.8 million, +1.4%;
