UNWTO working towards conversion of 'Global Code of Ethics' into an international convention

UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) announced (06-Mar-2017) it is working to convert the UNWTO 'Global Code of Ethics for Tourism' into an international convention. The process is being led by an intergovernmental working group composed of representatives of 36 UNWTO member states. The working group completed a draft text, which will be presented to the UNTWO executive council in May-2017. The executive council presentation will be followed another working group meeting, with UNWTO full and associate members invited to participate. The convention will then be presented for consideration and possible adoption at the 22nd UNWTO general assembly during Sep-2017. [more - original PR]
