Background ✨
Ryanair announced tweaks to its family seating policy, allowing adults travelling with children who did not pay for reserved seats to be seated together, while maintaining it complied with relevant laws and regulations; Ryanair Group CEO Michael O'Leary criticised the UK Competition and Markets Authority’s stance and said families might only learn seat allocations after check-in under the revised approach.1 The UK Government also announced a Civil Aviation Bill to strengthen passenger rights protections and give the UK Civil Aviation Authority new enforcement powers, including the ability to fine airlines and airports for failing to provide correct disruption information or accessible services for disabled passengers.2
