Uganda’s Government said President Yoweri Museveni directed Works and Transport Minister Katumba Wamala to appoint Girma Wake as a consultant/advisor to address management weaknesses at Uganda Airlines, and to enable outgoing CEO Jenifer Bamuturaki to step aside immediately; Mr Wake was to serve as acting CEO until a permanent CEO was appointed by Jul-20261. Uganda Airlines said Ms Bamuturaki stepped down after serving as acting CEO since mid-2021 and permanent CEO since mid-2022, with the board reportedly advertising for a successor2.
