Uber and Ryanair have similar playbooks

Uber general counsel for Europe Middle East Africa Jim Callaghan, speaking at the CAPA-ACTE Global Summit, stated (28-Oct-2016) Uber has a similar playbook as Ryanair. He said both companies seek to do something disruptive that consumers want. Mr Callaghan previously worked for Ryanair and taking the job with Uber "is a bit like going back to Ryanair without the wings". He said the taxi industry is "a protective monopoly" and "regulation is the biggest challenge to innovation" but "over time the consumer will end up winning out".
