Rostec confirmed that a partially import substituted Irkut MC-21 prototype, equipped with new Russian systems, completed its first test flight, testing Russian avionics, electrical supply, and air conditioning systems1. Certification tests for the partially import substituted MC-21 were anticipated to begin in spring 20252. Certification flights for the fully import substituted MC-21 featuring PD-14 engines were scheduled to start around the end of Jun-2025 or early Jul-20253.
