Certification flights for the fully import substituted Irkut MC-21 powered by PD-14 engines were expected to start by late June or early July 2025, with initial flights planned for 1H20251 2. Serial production of MC-21s was set to begin in 2026, with the production target initially at 36 units per annum, eventually doubling3. Certification test flights were anticipated to conclude in 2025, ahead of commercial deliveries4.
