Thai Lion Air awaiting approval to fly to Beijing, applies for other Chinese routes

Thai Lion Air MD Darsito Hendroseputro, speaking at the CAPA Airline Fleet & Finance Summit 2016, said (03-Mar-2016) the carrier is awaiting approval to fly to Beijing, along with other new China routes. Mr Darsito noted: "There will also be a lot of cities in China…. Tourism generates a lot of income for Thailand. In 2015 there were 29 million passengers travelling to Thailand and 7.9 million were from China." Mr Hendroseputro said Thailand is expecting 7%-10% tourism growth during 2016: "So there is still room to grow."
