Thai Airways had previously placed an order for 45 Boeing 787-9s in Feb-2024, with deliveries now expected to commence in early 2028, delayed from the initial estimate of mid 2027. The carrier secured flexibility to convert between 787 variants and indicated potential for up to 80 aircraft under the agreement1 2. It has been actively leasing widebodies to maintain capacity and support its restructuring strategy3 4.
