Sydney Airport reports 3% fall in Jul-2009 pax numbers

Australia's Macquarie Airports (MAp) reports (20-Aug-09) the following traffic highlights for its investment airports in Jul-2009:

  • Passenger numbers:

MAp: "Traffic performance at MAp's airports for July showed further evidence of moderating rates of decline across the portfolio. All three European airports had their smallest traffic declines (excluding the Easter timing effect) since the start of the global financial crisis last October. International traffic at Sydney, down 3% on the pcp, was flat if the impact of World Youth Day last year is eliminated, with Australian travellers particularly strong…Copenhagen continues to benefit from the low cost capacity which has replaced the Sterling business and Brussels is seeing the gradual restoration of short haul capacity by Brussels Airlines," Ms Kerrie Mather, MAp CEO, Source: MAp, 20-Aug-2009.
