SWISS expecting up to 65% of 2019 capacity levels during 3Q2021

SWISS announced (25-Feb-2021) plans to offer a "substantially less extensive" route network than previously planned in summer 2021, due to a lack of "any tangible resumption" of air travel until mid summer 2021 at the earliest. The company expects to be able to return operations to around 65% of 2019 levels during 3Q2021. SWISS will serve 85 destinations from Zurich and 43 from Geneva, focusing on leisure and VFR traffic. SWISS CCO Tamur Goudarzi Pour commented: "We won't be substantially expanding it again until the summer travel season. But when we do so, we'll be putting a clear focus on leisure travellers and on customers visiting friends and relatives, as the business travel segment will take longer to return".
