Star Alliance CEO calls on airports to improve LCC/hybrid connectivity

Star Alliance CEO Mark Schwab, speaking at the ACI 26th General Assembly in Athens, called (21-Jun-2016) on airports to improve their LCC/hybrid facilities and capabilities. Mr Schwab said LCC/hybrid connecting opportunities represent "quite significant" growth. Airlines unable to connect at one airport will do so at another. Mr Schwab called on airports to better evaluate placement of airlines and how they can make baggage transfers, for example. "The connection process should not be an afterthought in your plans," Mr Schwab said.
