SpiceJet converts three Q400s for cargo operations

SpiceJet announced (28-May-2020) the conversion of three Q400 aircraft to handle cargo. The aircraft were previously configured with 78 seats and now have capacity for 8.5 tons of cargo. The aircraft will primarily operate to Tier II and Tier III cities, including remote destinations in India's North East, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. SpiceJet chairman and MD Ajay Singh commented: "Our cargo operations are doing extremely well", and added: "We see a tremendous potential in the cargo business and will continue to expand in the times to come".
