Southwest Airlines holding 140 aircraft in long term storage or temporary parking

Southwest Airlines reported (17-Jun-2020) it is continuing to plan multiple scenarios for its fleet and capacity, with approximately 140 aircraft currently in long term storage or temporary parking. It anticipates actual flown capacity for the remainder of 2020 may differ materially from existing schedules. In order to provide more flexibility, employees have been offered the ability to participate in extended emergency time off and voluntary separation programmes, available until 15-Jul-2020.
