South Korea's cargo down 1% in 3Q2012

South Korea’s Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs reports (24-Oct-2012) the following cargo traffic highlights for the three months ended Sep-2012:

  • Cargo volume: 878,730 tonnes, -0.6% year-on-year;
    • International: 816,117 tonnes, +0.1%;
      • By South Korean carriers: 581,689 tonnes, -1.1%;
      • Foreign carriers: 234,429 tonnes, +3.1%;
    • Domestic: 62,613 tonnes, -9.2%;
      • By carrier:
        • Korean Air: 38,029 tonnes, -16.8%;
        • Asiana Airlines: 11,224 tonnes, +5.4%;
        • Air Busan: 3697 tonnes, +2.4%;
        • Jeju Air: 2057 tonnes, +0.3%;
        • Eastar Jet: 3537 tonnes, +15.7%;
        • Jin Air: 1955 tonnes, -0.7%;
        • T’way: 2116 tonnes, +9.5%;
      • By route:
        • Jeju-Gimpo: 34,858 tonnes, -10.2%;
        • Jeju-Gimhae: 10,042 tonnes, +1.1%;
        • Gimpo-Gimhae: 3770 tonnes, -29.7%;
        • Jeju-Daegu: 3555 tonnes, -7.8%;
        • Jeju-Gwangju: 2610 tonnes, -5.9%.
