South Korea airlines introduce 37 aircraft in 2016, registered aircraft to exceed 800 in 2017
South Korea's Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs reported (Feb-2017) the number of registered aircraft in South Korea will exceed 800 in 2017, with the expected delivery of 41 aircraft. In 2016, 37 aircraft were introduced to 761 aircraft as of Dec-2016, an increase of 5.1% year-on-year. Around 45.7% (348) of the 761 aircraft are used for commercial air transportation. LCCs introduced 20 aircraft during the year, including four by JEJU air, four by Eastar Jet, four by T'way Air, three by Jin Air, three by Air Seoul and two by Air Busan. The number of aircraft by airlines are as follows:
- Korean Air: 161;
- Asiana Airlines: 83;
- JEJU air: 26 737-800s;
- Jin Air: 22;
- Air Busan: 18;

- Eastar Jet: 17;
