Singapore Airlines receives first A350 XWB

Singapore Airlines announced (02-Mar-2016) it received its first A350 XWB from the 67 ordered. The aircraft is configured in a three class layout with 253 seats, comprising business, premium economy and economy. The aircraft will initially be deployed on regional Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta services before moving to long-haul Amsterdam and Duesseldorf services in May-2016. The aircraft features carbon fibre fuselage and wings and Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines, which deliver a 25% reduction in fuel burn and emissions. [more - original PR]
