Shinkansen bullet and other express train Golden Week usage down 11% to 9.12 million

Japan Railway announced 9.12 million people used the Tokaido Shinkansen Line bullet and other express trains operated by the company during the 2011 Golden Week holiday season (Kyodo News, 10-May-2011). The number marks a year-on-year decrease of 11% which has been blamed on the 11-Mar-2011 earthquake and tsunami.
