SAVE SpA commences Venice Marco Polo Airport EUR28m terminal expansion

SAVE SpA commenced (25-May-2018) an EUR28 million passenger terminal extension project at Venice Marco Polo Airport. The project is part of the airport's EUR850 million Master Plan 2012-2021. Completion of terminal works are scheduled before summer 2020. Works will be suspended during summer 2019 to accommodate increased flow of passenger traffic, resuming on 01-Oct-2019. Project details include:

  • Extension of the non-Schengen arrivals/departures hall;
  • Construction of a tower adding to the existing seven served by two new mobile passenger boarding bridges, to be connected to the terminal by a fixed jetty;
  • Increase in terminal surface area from 8000sqm to around 11,500sqm. [more - original PR - Italian]
